For some time now I’ve been thinking it would be quite nice to get back to doing a spot of painting or printmaking, especially after so many years sitting at the computer. I had a go and the results weren’t great, it must be said! However it was fun sploshing some paint about, so  I decided to paint loads of textures onto bits of card and then scan them in.  I’ve then incorporated these textures into my digital artwork as fills. I’m pretty pleased with the results. The work is flatter – there’s less shading and it’s certainly more decorative and immediate. It still looks like my work though. It’s nice to be able to offer a slightly different style to prospective clients. I’ll be doing more portfolio pieces in this style and hopefully it will catch on. Liz.
